Wealth Distribution Among Bitcoin Holders

The "Bitcoin rich list" has seen significant changes. Addresses holding more than $10,000 in BTC have risen by 781,250, growing from 2.72 million in January to 3.5 million today. Additionally, larger Bitcoin holders—often referred to as dolphins (100 to 500 BTC), sharks (500 to 1,000 BTC), and whales (1,000 to 10,000 BTC)—have also increased. In total, 101 new addresses have joined these ranks. Notably, 40 new wallets hold between 100 and 1,000 BTC, and 61 addresses now hold between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC, ranging in value from $65.6 million to $656 million.

Currently, there are 13,960 addresses holding between 100 and 1,000 BTC, while 1,975 addresses possess between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC. However, the number of addresses holding between 10,000 and 250,000 BTC has slightly declined, from 107 at the start of the year to 103.

The Role of Individual Investors

Mohamad Hassan Fahs, founder of timechainIndex.com, provided an update on the distribution of Bitcoin across individual investors. He revealed that there are 54,411,314 Bitcoin addresses with a combined balance of 19.76 million BTC. Of these, 12.42 million addresses hold more than 1 million satoshis, which account for nearly 19.71 million BTC.

Furthermore, Fahs noted that approximately 155,000 addresses are linked to non-individual entities such as exchanges, corporations, and governments. These accounts collectively hold around 8.1 million BTC. The remaining 12.27 million addresses, likely managed by individual investors, hold around 11.6 million BTC.

Fahs highlighted that this data implies about 0.15% of the world's population holds a significant amount of Bitcoin, showcasing how early we are in Bitcoin's global adoption. "Current levels still fall short of many expectations," he added, underscoring the long-term growth potential for the cryptocurrency.
