Women in Crypto: Empowering Bolivian Entrepreneurs through Blockchain Technology
In Cochabamba, Bolivia, the Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs (CAMEBOL Cochabamba) and the Study Center for International Cooperation (CECI Bolivia) recently hosted a groundbreaking workshop titled "Women in the Crypto Economy." The event, held in celebration of Bolivian Women's Day, saw the participation of over 200 female entrepreneurs eager to explore cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
Financial Empowerment Amid Economic Challenges
Magaly Castro, President of CAMEBOL Cochabamba, opened the workshop by emphasizing its timely nature in light of Bolivia's current economic difficulties. As Bolivia faces a shortage of foreign currency, the workshop provided women with the chance to discover innovative financial alternatives.
"This workshop is not just about learning cryptocurrency but about embracing the future and equipping ourselves with new tools that allow us to be more autonomous, visionary, and resilient in a constantly changing environment," said Castro.

Bolivia's challenging economic environment disproportionately affects women, particularly those reliant on vulnerable or informal sectors. Led by André Canelas, an expert in electronic financial technology, the workshop highlighted how blockchain and cryptocurrencies could offer new investment opportunities and empower women financially, enabling them to manage their resources more effectively and competitively.

Claudia Ballesteros, an economic empowerment expert from CECI Bolivia's TEA WEEB project, stressed the vital role women play in Bolivia's economic and technological transformation.
"With initiatives like this, we ensure that our female entrepreneurs are at the forefront of change, actively shaping their financial future," Ballesteros said.
The event also featured a group of entrepreneurs who have integrated cryptocurrencies into their business operations. These leaders shared how cryptocurrencies have enhanced the flexibility, efficiency, and security of their financial transactions.
