VeBetterDAO has received its very first proposal for an app on its platform, designed to introduce transparency in the distribution and usage of B3TR tokens within the VeChain system. VeChain is excited to announce a new initiative via its VeBetterDAO platform.

Combating Climate Change with Biochar

The project aims to tackle climate change by converting agricultural waste into biochar, a stable form of carbon. By collaborating with small-scale farmers, Carboneers not only revitalizes soil but also creates a sustainable method for managing agricultural by-products.

According to Collin Brown, a blockchain researcher who shared simplified details of the Carboneers project in a tweet, the process involves converting waste into biochar through pyrolysis, a method that traps CO₂ in the soil and prevents it from entering the atmosphere. Each "carbon year" represents one ton of CO₂ sequestered for a year, providing a clear and measurable impact. This approach ensures that the environmental benefits are significant and transparent.

As explained in today's CNF YouTube video, Carboneers also leverages VeChain's blockchain technology to track and verify these carbon credits, offering a trustworthy means to validate the credibility of their efforts.

Participating in a Sustainable Future

VeChain Collaborates with Carboneers to Convert Agricultural Waste into Environmental Solutions. Importantly, individuals can participate by purchasing "carbon years" to offset their carbon footprint and earn rewards such as B3TR tokens.

This initiative not only contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions but also supports farmers and uses blockchain technology for reliable tracking of emission credits. As of this article's writing, VeChain (VET) is trading at $0,02738, with a 3.65% decline in the last day and 6.80% over the past week. See the VET price chart below.
