Revealed during the EthCC event, the Delegation Toolkit aims to help developers create decentralized applications (DApps) and protocols that offer innovative user experiences.

To facilitate seamless onboarding, the toolkit eliminates the need for traditional wallet interactions. It also reduces the necessity for additional extensions, enabling users to access DApps instantly without managing seed phrases or dealing with pop-ups and confirmations.

Additionally, the toolkit simplifies smart contract development by allowing developers to reassign gas costs and create more user-friendly DApps. This means that some interactions requiring transaction fees are now "completely free and instant."

By offloading these costs, developers can attract a broader audience, making blockchain technology more inclusive and appealing.

The toolkit natively supports all Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Linea, Optimism, and Polygon.

The MetaMask Delegation Toolkit also offers customizable permission and enforcement systems. Developers can set custom policies, invite others to DApps, and allocate allowances, creating a tailored and controlled experience.

Dan Finlay, co-founder of MetaMask, stated that the toolkit allows developers to "decide" the conditions for executing specific tasks, eliminating the need for "confirmations."

"You can now have uninterrupted flows within the website," Finlay added.

This toolkit is the latest enhancement aimed at improving MetaMask. It follows Consensys's efforts to bolster the Web3 wallet's security through the acquisition of Wallet Guard, a security app.

Wallet Guard's security features, such as real-time detection of scams and wallet drainers, will be integrated into MetaMask as part of the acquisition.

In addition to strengthening its overall infrastructure, MetaMask has been testing transactions on Mastercard’s payments network. This initiative follows a partnership with Revolut, the European neo-bank, to simplify the process of buying cryptocurrency directly from the wallet.
