Ethereum's Impressive Revenue
According to Lookonchain, Ethereum generated a staggering $2.72 billion in revenue over the past year, surpassing the Bitcoin network by $1.42 billion. In comparison, Bitcoin's revenue for the same period was $1.3 billion.
Dominance in DeFi
Data from Defi Llama reveals that Ethereum continues to lead the decentralized finance (DeFi) space with a total value locked (TVL) of $58.4 billion, representing 60.9% of the entire market. In the last 30 days alone, Ethereum recorded a fee income of $131 million.
Bitcoin's TVL, by contrast, stands at $1 billion.
Significant Growth
Ethereum, the network behind the second-largest cryptocurrency, saw a 155% year-over-year increase in fee revenue in the first quarter of this year, fueled by a bull run in the crypto market.
Other Major Players
Tron ranks third with a one-year revenue of $459 million. Solana and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) also reported substantial fee incomes of $241 million and $176 million, respectively.
Tron is the second-largest chain in the DeFi landscape with a TVL of $7.7 billion, while BSC and Solana hold the third and fourth positions with TVLs of $4.8 billion and $4.5 billion, respectively, according to Defi Llama.
Additional Top Performers
Avalanche, zkSync Era, Optimism, and Polygon round out the top 10 with one-year revenues of $68 million, $59 million, $40 million, and $23 million, respectively.
